PASS THE SAGE
What’s Inside + Why It Matters
Pass the Sage is a collection of stories, poems, and art from Indigenous voices across Turtle Island. Within its pages, you’ll find powerful reflections on identity, resilience, healing, and culture — stories that carry both the weight of lived experience and the light of hope for future generations.
Storytelling has always been medicine in our communities — a way to pass down teachings, honour ancestors, and stay connected to who we are. Each contribution in this book is more than creative expression; it is a thread back to our roots. Together, these voices form a living anthology where art and memory intertwine, reminding us that when we share our stories, we keep culture alive and carry healing forward for the next generations.
Honouring Our Contributors
Every contributor to Pass the Sage received a $150 honorarium as a thank you for sharing their stories, art, and lived experiences. From the very beginning, it was important to me that this project reflect respect and reciprocity — that the voices at its heart were not just heard, but honoured. Offering these honorariums was one small way to show my gratitude and to affirm that Indigenous stories carry value, dignity, and power.
Giving Back to Community
25% of online revenue for all books and journals will go directly into grassroots initiatives that uplift Indigenous people at the local level on a 6 month basis
These funds help support community-led programs, youth initiatives, and cultural projects that carry forward the same spirit of healing and resilience found in the book. When you purchase Pass the Sage, you are not just holding a collection of stories — you are actively contributing to the growth and wellbeing of Indigenous communities.
It’s about keeping the circle strong: stories give back to people, and people give back to stories.
JUNE 2026 DONATION CHOICE..
This journey started with a decision — to no longer keep my childhood abuse a secret.
For over 20 years, I carried that story in silence. And when I finally chose to speak it… it wasn’t just for me.. But to also encourage others to do the same and find peace in the shadows of our pasts.
From the beginning, I promised that every 6 months, I would donate 25% of my Amazon revenue to an Indigenous charity.
This June, I’ve chosen an organization that deeply connects to my why and my reason.
I will be donating to Little Warriors — a specialized treatment centre for children and teens (ages 8–17) who have experienced sexual abuse. Their programs focus on building resilience, restoring trust, and helping young people move forward with strength.
This is something I wish I had access to when the abuse happened to me -If you want to support this initiative, you can purchase Pass the Sage: Stories from the Fire, Teachings from the Smoke AND/OR Roots & Reflections.
